Dorothy Brook, born in London, studied graphic design at St Martin’s School of Art and only took up sculpture 15 years ago.
Fascinated by patterns and curves around her, she abstracts from the human form to capture the essence of movement and present it in the most aesthetically pleasing and harmonious way playing with the lines and negative spaces as well as the shape itself. Her passion for dance and music trigger the ideas for her two and three-dimensional work.
Dorothy has exhibited widely in the UK and has many drawings and sculptures in collections around the world. She was shortlisted for a sculpture at the Bank of England and has a piece in the Unilever permanent collection. She was recently commissioned by Kings College, London to make a sculpture for their award winning garden.
